Scholarship Opportunities

The EWI ASIST Scholarship is available to adults in a caregiving role who are facing economic, social, or physical challenges, and looking to improve their situation through educational opportunities.

EWI Albuquerque offers the ASIST Scholarship each year to a student at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) or a student at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque.

Students first apply and compete at the local chapter level.

Chapter-level winners are submitted to the corporate level for the opportunity to be selected for additional funds.

EWI Albuquerque funds an annual scholarship for a female graduate student at the University of New Mexico (UNM).

Maliaq Kairaiuak

2019 ASIST Scholarship Winner

Maliaq Kairaiuak is a Yupik and Athabaskan, single mother from Alaska. She is a Graduate from UNM's Film & Digital Media Arts program. As a filmmaker she hopes to create a platform dedicated to underrepresented groups, especially highlighting indigenous representation. She hopes to extend that platform to indigenous youth through education.
