EWI is committed to championing literacy education within our local communities. EWI Chapters across North America enlist the aid of corporations, writers, teachers, and many other professionals to promote reading and writing opportunities to children.
Reading Rally
EWI of Albuquerque provides an annual READING RALLY for the second-grade students at a local Title I elementary school in Albuquerque. Special guests like the LOBOS men’s baseball team come and read a couple of books to the students. Each child may choose a new hardback book to take home along with a bag of school supplies. Any remaining books are donated to the school library. All of this is possible through our annual fundraising efforts, grants and donations from you.
