Changing Lives with Literacy
EWI is committed to the promotion of literacy within our local communities. Chapters across North America enlist the aid of corporations, writers, teachers, and many other professionals to promote reading and writing opportunities to children.
Reading Rally
EWI of Albuquerque provides a Reading Rally each year for the second-grade students at a local Title I elementary school. Special guests read a story to the children, and each child may choose a new hardback book to take home. Any remaining books are donated to the school library. Each student also receives a bag of school supplies. All of this is possible through our annual fundraising efforts and donations.
